Epithalon (Epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide derivative of the pineal gland-derived peptide Epithalamin, extensively researched for its role as a primary telomerase activator, neuroendocrine regulator, and master modulator of cellular senescence.
The structural backbone of Epithalon is a short 4-amino-acid linear peptide sequence (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly). Designed to replicate the physiological actions of pineal bioregulators, its ultra-short peptide structure allows it to readily cross cellular and nuclear membranes to interact directly with chromatin, histone proteins, and promoter regions of specific DNA sequences
Epithalon’s primary scope of research expands into targeted anti-aging, genomic, and neuroendocrine pathways, including:
- Telomerase Induction & Telomere Elongation: Investigating the enzymatic upregulation of telomerase to evaluate the restoration and preservation of telomeric DNA length in senescent somatic cells.
- Pineal Axis & Melatonin Synthesis: Studying the restoration of pineal gland function and the normalization of nocturnal melatonin secretion patterns to regulate circadian rhythm dynamics.
- Chromatin Structure & Gene Expression Modulation: Evaluating its ability to induce chromatin decondensation, reactivation of silent gene regions, and regulation of protein synthesis in aging cellular models.
- Oxidative Stress & Radical Scavenging: Researching the upregulation of endogenous antioxidant enzymes—including superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase-to protect mitochondrial DNA from oxidative damage.
- Immunomodulation & T-Cell Proliferation: Assessing the reactivation of thymic immune function, normalization of T-lymphocyte subpopulations, and inhibition of spontaneous tumor development in longevity models.
THIS PRODUCT IS INTENDED FOR IN VITRO LABORATORY RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT USE ONLY.
